The front row is one of the most coveted spots in fashion, filled with the most well-known and well-dressed celebrities, including the likes of Emanuelle Alt, Olivia Palermo and of course the Queen of fashion herself, Anna Wintour (editor-in-chief of Vogue US). But how do us mortals get the look? We can only dream to get the chance to be where these people are sat, but until that day, here’s a budget-friendly way to fake it.
Colour is one of the biggest trends going right now – so opt for a coloured dress similar to the one above (from Zara). Opt for little or no accessories and keep the main focus on the dress – the bright orange will make you stand out enough as it is. The a-line shape of the dress not only keeps you on trend with the 70s trend, but it will also help to elongate your legs, but to make your legs look even better make sure you pair them with a good moisturiser and a chic pair of shoes. High heels are always a must-have for fashion week – a top tip is to walk around the house in them a few days before the event, to save any embarrassing falls or wobbles. Topshop do a great selection of heels, but these in particular would go great with the dress I’ve chosen for this look. If it’s chilly then you could always add a pair of sheer black tights to save you the goosebumps. Throw on a black cape or fur jacket to save you from Fashion Week Flu as well!
Personally, I never skimp on a good bag, so invest in a classic such as the Celine tote in a black or dark colour and I can guarantee it will last you a lifetime, but if you don’t have a pocket deep enough check out a similar bag from Zara seen below – It’ll look great and won’t force you into starvation just to be able to afford it.
The makeup for this look should be kept very simple, but a colored lip in a coral/orange shade could also look really great, so experiment! Pair it with a scruffy ponytail much like the looks from Celine SS11 and you’re ready to go.
