“I’m a Maker.” I love it! And I love how she said she loves to solve problems. A woman after my heart!
Nice to see them interviewed, since I don’t see them in the press much. I’ve admired Isabel’s designs since the 90′s, and have made up her Vogue 1608 top and pants years ago. I’ve been pulling out the pattern every now and then to read it, pet it, and imagine making up the skirt. Interesting construction details… I can see why she says she likes puzzles!
BTW, I had to do it of course. I nominated you for a Sisterhood award. Mmmwah!
Fantastic. I have long admired her work, and loved her exhibit at FIT some years ago. It is a relief to hear her say she doesn’t see things clearly… one is tempted to think that the garments just pour out of her head. I have heard “I am a maker” many times from artists working in a variety of media over the past few years. We “makers” know who we are.
